Arranging a Visa Medical can be an exciting, yet stressful time. You might need the medical because you’re working or studying overseas, and you’ll no doubt feel like there’s a lot to organise!
The Heriot Clinic is registered with the FCDO and can help you with your visa medical requirements.
As you can imagine, there are different requirements depending on the country that you are visiting, and the purpose and duration of your travel. The embassy or consulate will inform you of their own specific requirements, so it is necessary to check this with them first.
You might need:
A medical examination
A chest x-ray
A certificate that you are free from infection
A blood test to to check your immunity
We can assist you with these things.
Once you contact The Heriot Clinic, we’ll provide you a quote for the cost of the Visa Medical and arrange a date that suits you. The appointment could take between 30 minutes to an hour, so please allow enough time. Your appointment will be at our clinic on Queensferry Road in Edinburgh.
When you email us about your visa medical, it’s helpful if you include information on;:
The country you are travelling to.
The purpose and expected duration of your stay.
The guidance that you have been given by the appropriate embassy.
The name, address and date of birth for each applicant
We will also need a copy of your passport at the time of your appointment.
As always, it’s best to contact Dr Colin Johnston about your visa medical requirements to discuss your specific circumstances. Either visit our contact page, or email directly to discuss further.
